I Lovey Love Larkburger

Recently, I received the most generous of offers from Larkburger to try one of their new salads! I was hesitant at first, but replied and set a date for my family and I to go try the restaurant near us. I have been wanting to try Larkburger for a while now, and this was a perfect opportunity!

Little did I know that they treated our entire family to a wonderful meal just so I could try a new salad. First of all, I would like to extend my thanks to the entire Larkburger crew. Zack, the Manager at the Arvada restaurant, and the entire group were amazingly friendly, kind and we had one of the best customer service experiences I’ve seen in a long while. And it wasn’t just for me because they knew I was coming in to write and review the food, it was to everyone. They were very attentive to all the customers, it was truly a lovely experience.

The food, was without a doubt some of the best I’ve had in a while. Even our daughter, who can be a pretty tough critic said “Mom! This is GOOD!” with a mouthful of grilled cheese, truffle fries and a vanilla shake. Please know, I sincerely appreciate the lunch, however all of the opinions that follow are truthfully my opinion and I was not paid to say great things about them…but I will anyway.

Baby Kale Salad with Seared Ahi Tuna

I had the Baby Kale Salad and topped it with rare seared sushi grade ahi tuna. It was amazing. The salad has carrots, cucumbers, radishes, red onions and there was a little cilantro in there too which made it really fresh and inviting. The tuna was incredible and very tender and delicious. I normally order Seared Ahi Tuna at restaurants, and this is one of the best I have ever had.

The tamari-ginger vinaigrette was very light, and tangy and went perfectly with the entire meal. This is only the second time I’ve ever had Kale, and this time I fell in love with it. It was absolutely delicious.

Just look at it:

It was so pretty, and then I broke into it, and it was amazing.

The salad was a lot larger than I thought it would be and was very filling. I came in hungry after a morning without breakfast, walked the dogs and started to clean the house, so I was nervous that I wasn’t going to get enough food, but this salad did the trick. It was delicious, and I would highly recommend it.

Truffle Burger with Bacon

My husband ordered this burger and I’m so glad he did, because I got to try it. It’s a very rare occurrence that a burger is so good that it doesn’t need cheese, and this is one of those burgers.

He ordered it Medium temperature, and it came out perfectly warm pink in the middle. The meat was really juicy and tender, and the bacon was not too crispy so it really helped compliment the burger. This burger has truffle aioli on it, and while I have never cooked with that, I hear it’s very good, and now that I tasted that burger I may need to buy stock in a truffle aioli company.

Grilled Cheese Kids Meal

Our daughter is a kid (7 years old to be exact) and she is a tough customer. If there is a kids meal, the first thing that is evaluated is the toy. Well parents, there is no toy (but the manager did hand out stickers to all the kids, so that was nice, but that was not part of the kids meal). She is a grilled cheese conneseur and she loved this version. It was on a bun, and the cheese was perfectly melted. She thoroughly enjoyed it and honestly didn’t even notice there wasn’t a chintzy toy. Great job Larkburger, you know that if the kids are happy, the parents are happy, and you made our kid, and these parents very happy. We appreciate it, and it’s proof positive, if your food is good, you don’t need to bribe kids with toys to eat it.

The grilled cheese is the sandwich on the top left of the picture above. (Look at how BIG that salad is.) In addition, we learned that on Monday’s after 4pm kids eat free at the Larkburger off of 88th and Wadsworth. I’m not sure if that’s all locations. Our family will definitely remember that, and it’s good news for anyone with little folks in their house.

Milkshakes

We all treated ourselves to milkshakes, our daughter had Vanilla, I had Strawberry and my husband had Chocolate. We all loved them! They are super creamy but not too creamy, and the Strawberry one has crushed strawberries in it, and was very fresh and inviting. I was very impressed.

Also I found out that from 3-5pm is happy hour, and milkshakes and beers are $2 each. I’m definitely hitting that up in the future.

Here’s a photo of our daughter photobombing the milkshake.

The Fries

I am putting the Fries in their own category. They were incredible. They are pictured below, and their are two kinds, one regular, and one truffle and parmesan. The truffle and parmesan ones were gone in a flash. We all loved them.

The regular fries were excellent as well, however we all went for the parmesan when given the choice. These were so good, you didn’t need ketchup. Seriously, a place where the burgers don’t need cheese and the fries don’t need ketchup? As my friend would say…Amazeballs.

The fries were cooked perfectly, and really really good. I highly recommend them. They were delicious. Our daughter loved them as well and we all dove in quite happily into those fries.

All in all we spent about an hour indulging and loving every minute of it. It was a great lunch, and I’m humbled and grateful for the kindness of Larkburger to treat us to such a great meal.

Please go visit one near you, and if you don’t have one near you, go to their website and beg them to open one. Or drive out to Arvada, Colorado and visit ours. Order me an order of fries, and I’ll meet you there.

Thank you!
